Woohoo! Race day is here! I and 30-odd other riders in the Novice Women's class will be out there today on a beautiful sunny day doing what we love to do, only faster! Other Spin Sisters are racing in the higher classes. Go girls go! I'm racing not necessarily to win, but to have fun, go hard and promote world peace (race goals for today)
Best wishes to everyone including those who wanted to but are unable to make it today! Film at 11 :-)

What a fantastic race out at the Nordic Centre on Saturday for the Iron Lung! We had 15 SS ladies at the start line in the Novice Category, 4 in Sport, and 1 in Expert! Tonnes of smiles, great competition, and celebration by all afterwards.
Congrats to Alison (2nd place) and Megan (3rd place), what a great race between both of you and the girl who placed 1st! It was a nail-biter!
And thanks to our wonderful volunteers (coaches and support/cheering crew)!
If any of the racers want to post something about the event, please do!
Also, the Organ Grinder 5 hour enduro race was held on Sunday and we had a handful of Spin Sisters participate in that event as well! Well done!

Thanks, Kathleen. The official race results from Zone4, which you copied for us here, still don't have the corrected starting line-up. Several of the DNFs (Did-Not-Finish) should actually be DNS (Did-Not-Start) for various reasons. I know, myself, I went so hard in the first lap that I wondered where the energy was going to come from to finish the second and third laps (but I did, and I had a blast doing this race!) Just because someone DNF'd certainly doesn't mean they weren't racing hard, and sometimes forces beyond our control intervene too (like mechanical problems or bumps on the head from the previous day). So congratulations to all of our racers who did or didn't start, finish, and/or reach the podium -- wasn't that fun just being part of it?? It was a pleasure and an honour to be out there with you! -- Kayla

Sorry for interloping on your board....
Just wanted to say that it was great to see so many ladies out racing. It makes it more fun for everyone when there are more of us out there. Good job!!!
To the 2nd/3rd place riders - I was jealous of your technical descent skills - I rode Devonian on Sunday - but walked it all 3 laps on Saturday (even as I watched you guys swoop through it). Living so close to the mountains definitely has it's perks.
Lauri (from Edmonton - who misses the mountains already)

Congratulations to all the Spin Sisters out there Saturday racing! Great to hear that everyone enjoyed themselves, met goals and turned heads!! I think that women's racing in Alberta is definitely on the upswing!!
I really wish I could have gone to support everyone but was buried in work. I'll be there to cheer on the racers at the Suffer Springs . Hope to see a bunch of you out there!
Linda
