Hi Guys; Jumping Pound Ridge got some snow over the weekend, rumor has it that there is a few feet of snow up on the ridge so - new plan. The schedule is re-set to Prairie View/Jewel pass again tomorrow since we only had 2 brave soul's make it out last time (dang rain).
Directions: Drive west of Calgary on the #1 highway, turn onto #40 for roughly 8-9 km south and park at the Barrier Dam parking lot.
Cycle up 2 km to a signed intersection and take the fireroad going up Prairie View in switchbacks (I think I counted 12 switchbacks last time...), hike your bike the last bit to the summit overlooking Barrier Lake, continue down Prairie View, a technically exhilarating descent to the Jewell Pass / Quaite Valley intersection, be sure to turn left and continue on yet another technically superb bump and grind descent down Jewell Pass to Stoney Trail, turning left and back to the original intersection - turn right back towards barrier lake and to the parking lot...
Should take ~2.5-3 hours for most, 1.5-2 hours for rockets...

I can't make it - gotta pack to night to go to Fernie tomorrow who hoo...
But I did ride Kananakis 8 last night with Lance and the trail was in great shape so Prairie View should be good as well!!

Anyone interested in carpooling from Kensington or the Stoney Trail parking lot?

There were 7 of us out riding in the sunshine last night. The trail was in mint condition and we had a blast! Thanks everyone for a great ride!
